Scott Rogers is a partner at Scandaglia & Ryan with substantial experience representing clients in both domestic and international trademark and copyright matters. He is proficient in the prosecution of trademark and copyright applications as well as in the enforcement of intellectual property rights. His extensive knowledge of intellectual property law also covers the protection of trade secrets, non-competition agreements, unfair competition and deceptive trade practices.

Mr. Rogers began his legal career in 1990 at Trenam Kemker in Tampa, where he handled a variety of complex commercial litigation matters. Returning to Chicago in 1996, Mr. Rogers joined Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione focusing his practice exclusively on intellectual property law.

In 1998, Mr. Rogers joined Ty Inc. as Vice President and General Counsel. As such, he was responsible for establishing and protecting a multibillion-dollar trademark and copyright portfolio in the face of many challenges presented by counterfeiters, infringers, copycats and others seeking to exploit Ty’s intellectual property.

For more than five years, Mr. Rogers oversaw multimillion-dollar lawsuits, coordinating the worldwide efforts of attorneys, law enforcement and customs officials, and private investigators, ultimately securing one of the most famous intellectual property portfolios in the world. As a result, Mr. Rogers developed a broad base of foreign colleagues with whom he works. He also developed a significant amount of experience working with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection as well as other governmental entities throughout the world.
